Need more HP and Torque

any suggestions on a simple and relatively inexpensive way to get more HP and torque? I already have a CAI and Catback, Headers comming soon. More than likely an angine swap is in the plans but that wont be for at least another year or so. Thanks for the Info

Re: Need more HP and Torque

Nothing you can do that will be inexpensive, maybe nitrous (personally I wouldn't use it ever but that's just me). Other than that there is nothing you can do short of an engine swap or turbo kit. This exact same question was asked a month or 2 ago (almost the exact same title and phrasing); and the same answer was given.

Thats about it I/H/E you cant really do much more out of an EX engine that is inexpensive. Deffinitly look into the B swap, because you can do alot more with that engine then a SOHC. In the mean time you should work on suspension if you havent already.

I'll second the suspension idea;
what about the cam? a different cam could change the attitude of the car, and still be fairly easy on your wallet, right?

I could be wrong, but I have a SOHC as well (00 EX) and that's where I'm going after the I/H/E thing. Somebody let me know if i'm way off here so I don't keep on thinking the wrong thing

Re: Need more HP and Torque

Yeah adding a cam will add power but if he's (or you) are planning on doing a motor swap eventually then it'd make more sense to save the $ for the swap instead of spending it on the current motor. You'll never be able to get that $ back, even if you sell the d-series most likely no one would pay you the $ for it to make up for the $ you spend for the cam. But if you have no plan to swap then it will be a good investment for added power.

Re: Need more HP and Torque

only in a perfect world would "cheap" and "hp" be in the same sentence and make sence.
thats just the way it is
some one said in another thread " bolt-ons are like having 125 grains of salt or 135 grains of salt it can only do so much and it wont make a diffrence"

if it was cheap every one would be running 13's

Re: Need more HP and Torque

thanks for the input. I was pretty sure i had done pretty much everything i could except the swap but i just had to make sure i wasnt missing anything. I thought about the turbo but i would rather wait until i do the actual swap and add the turbo to that engine...in the mean time ill just stack my chips..once again thanks for the info fellas
