Ram Air
I've got my cone filter inside the the fender with no box around it. I want to get a ram air hood. Would it decrease the ram air effect by reversing or decreasin the air flow from the fender?(my filter has a heat shield around it with an opening at the end.)

Re: Ram Air
If you have a heat shield around the fiter, you have cut most of the air from coming into the filter.
Ram air has a hole (with gasket) in the top of the air box. Air is forced in from the hood, or in some cases thur the vent from hoses under the front bumper. I may be wrong, it's happened before, right guys? But the heat shield goes around the pipe going into the supercharger.

Re: Ram Air
This is the filter I got and the opening which is inside the fender should take in enough air I think:

Re: Ram Air
you shouldn't lose pressure that should cause any concern. the thing i would be concern about is the heat shield around the filter.

Re: Ram Air
Do you have a ram air hood?
http://www.3800performance.com/vehic...97_03_miva.htm If not you don't have air coming in from the hood.
