Dead trunk release on 01LS
First of all, I'm so glad to have found this forum - you folks have alot of information that my 'knowledgeable' dealer has neglected to mention or been unable to explain (i.e. hollow front-end noise when I hit a bump). Thanks!
Anyone had problems with their trunk release not working? I have a 2001LS - 55K. At first, only the cabin button was failing (remote buttons still worked for several days) - but now, none work and I have to open manually with a key. The trunk release doesn't appear to be regulated by a fuse as far as I can tell, but not sure. Any thoughts/advice is greatly appreciated. mrmadara - BRAND new user. =) |

the most common problem is that you accidently turned on the Truck-Release - lock out. It's a little button near the trunk latch (middle - lower part of the trunk opening, just inside the rear lip) when you were putting something in the trunk.

Re: Dead trunk release on 01LS
Due to the gradual failure, it sounds like a bad solenoid to me.

I'll check for the latch, but the remote buttons have been working today (go figure) - so if gradual/intermittent failures = bad solenoid, that looks like my problem.
You guys rock - thanks! |
