VLSD really helps!

I was skeptical about the effectiveness of a VLSD and basically thought it was glorified traction control until I was attempting to peel out of a turn (from a stop) after it rained. It gripped the road as if it was dry. I can get it to slightly slip if I floor it from a stop but the wheels won't even chirp. The only way I can't tell I developed any spin is because the slip light will come on from the traction control. This combo of the two systems is very effective.

When did VLSD become an option and how do you know if you have it?

It recently came standard on the I30t and 20th AE Max SE. I am not sure about the model year for the I30 but for the Max 2001 is the only year it has been offered on the fifth gen. It is not offered as an option. You know you have it when you floor your throttle and you get nothing but grip, no smoking tires or wheel spin and better 0 to 60 or 1/4 mile times and of course it will say so on your window sticker. I don't know of any visible differences. :sun:

Good visual indicator:

Jack up the front of your car.
Spin one wheel, if the other wheel spins in the same direction, you have VLSD. If you don't have any of the cars that I listed above, don't bother with the test.
