Keyless entry system tempermental

Just recently I have had problems with the keyless remote opening the trunk or doors. I have replaced the batteries but it still doesn't open most of the time. I have 2 keypads and when one works, so does the other, so it must be a problem with a sensor or something in the car.
Does anyone have a clue why I'm having this problem?

Does anyone have a solution to my keyless entry problem before I go to the mechanic and spend a couple hundred while he figures out how to fix it.

Emjay, have you got any luck fixing this? I'm having the same problem on a 92 Buick Regal.

It sounds like the receiver. I fixed mine (94 Regal Custom) by resoldering the IC's. It is not as hard as it sounds. I found a link on the Pontiac forum. I have a word document showing how to. I will be glad to send it to you. Send me an email if you are interested. [email protected]
