Window problem
I recently got my windows tinted (not sure if that matters) and today I rolled down my passenger window and it seemed like it went down hard (I did this after a rain). About 10 minutes later it started to rain again and I attempted to put the window back up but it only went nearly 1/2 of the way up until it jammed. It seems as though it's being caught on the weatherstripping. When the window is fully down it is "floppy" meaning that it's easier to jiggle the window. The driver's side doesn't jiggle at all. What is the problem and what would I have to do to fix it?

All Honda Civic 96-00 windows are fucked up, take it to Honda and have them fix it.
the braces in the door panel are off track, or broken....it costs about $250 to get it fixed, maybe more...depends on your local Honda dealership.

Yep, Honda 96-00 are a piece of shit...my two windows fucked up, not the electric elevator, but the plastic things in the middle, cost me 145 dollars to fix the right one, the left one does not work.

I have a helm's manual and was thinking about fixing it myself so I wouldn't have to pay a lot of money, think it would be too hard for a "home-mechanic" and myself to fix it?

actually its not that hard...just a little time consuming, because you have to remove the entire door panel, and all, the problem you might run into is having to fix/put back the window into the track and everything, pretty easy job though....

In my experience, I have found that new bolts, or a washer (or small extra washer) on the retaining bolts for the window regulator arm help to prevent them coming loose. Also, if you take the door apart and make sure the lifting arm isn't bent up or anything, and put plenty of generous grease on the working metal parts ( I found bicycle chain grease to be wonderful for this, thin and waterproof)

i had to tighten my bolts on my rod the other day, works fine now.

Fixed it... it was way out of the track, so I had to take out the retaining bolt, put it back in, then tighten to where it was again.
Bad part is that the tint ripped from where it jammed, think I could get away with telling them "it bubbled" for a warranty repair?
