ECU ERROR code: 0104 (Vehicle Speed Sensor)

Hello all,

I have a 96 Maxima with 125K mileage. In the past, "check engine light" was ON and when I checked the error codes , the result was-- faulty O2 sensors in both bank 1 and bank 2. Since this was the first time the check Engine light was on, I reset the check engine light without any repairs. There was no problem until yesterday, check Engine light is on again after 2 months this time the error code is 0104 - (Vehicle Speed Sensor).
Please advice, should i reset the Check Engine Light again and try for few more days until the Light is on again? or Should I take it to mechanic immediately for repairs?

Please advice.

Sanchi

I have a '97 Maxima SE, I have the 01 04 and 03 04 codes... Knock Sensor and Vehicle speed sensor. I reset the ECU and have been driving for about a week now waiting to see if they come back. So far nothing. I think it's safe to drive... I'm waiting too to see how important this Vehicle speed sensor is.

i'm pretty sure the abs module in the car uses the vss sensor as feedback. potentially the vss output could be utilized by other modules in the car also. if you want your abs to work properly i'd get down to the bottom of it.

not sure about the knock sensor code, sounds unrelated to the vss.
