I dont know if you guys have talked about this much, but is it true that Honda is killing of Preludes and that the gen 5 is the end of the line?????? What will this do for resale value????? and what are we to be replaced with???? Please not integras.

There's probably a post on this already if you'll do a search. But yes, it's true, they are killing off the Prelude. I think that 2001 was the last model year for the Prelude. As for a replacement for the Prelude, well in my opinion nothing could replace it. I think they believe that the RSX is going to sale to the same market that the Prelude would have.

yes, 2001 is the LAST year they made them. They discontinued it because sales were not very good, and Honda was losing money from the Preludes, so they stopped making them.
Hopefully the 5th gen will become as rare and famous as Supras or RX-7s.
But I highly doubt that'll happen

This kid claims that Civic SI's are faster than Preludes, and that Preludes are all weighed down. He said there was a 1995 Prelude VTEC getting Dogged by all the Si Civics with B16's. I Don't believe it that must of just been a slackin Prelude VTEC..
I used to have a 95 Saturn SC2 with a 2 1/4 with RS racing bomb that killed SI's with or without aftermarket parts. It's too bad that Saturn was one of a kind. Personally my EX keeps up with Si's

First of all, what are you talking about? What does this have to do with anything? And plus, what year of Civic are you talking about? I doubt your 124hp (that's the higher model) Saturn SC2 could've "killed" a 160hp Civic Si (the newer ones). The old Civic Si's only had 125hp, so its pretty even, and I wouldn't be that surprised if you could beat one. Even with your RS racing bomb, it would not give you that much hp to beat a 160hp Si.

You just don't know about my 95 Saturn. It was a legend. The intake resonator was for some reason removed before I recieved the car so it sounded like a plane engine. Then I put a 2 1/4 cat-back to a muffler from a car club in a RS Racing box. It looks just like the RS Racing execpt for the tip. Maybe the box just had a different picture. But on the way home from the exaust shop I got rearended by an ugly Lexus RX-300. Fortunately, I still got to drive the car for 2 months before it was rendered totalled. I beat it and after two weeks amazing changes happened. The exaust kicked in. This DOHC 95 Saturn SC2 spanked 160 hp Civic Si's. As a matter of fact it spanked 4 other Honda's all lined up at the red light. Two Civic SI's were on the left (Red and Black) with intake and exaust. The other two Hondas were a VTEC accord and a VTEC SOHC Civic EX (with no air filter, nice sound). The Saturn killed all four honda's and by 3rd gear no one was in sight. This Saturn saw no ordinary Civic. This Saturn dogged B-16's and had no governor and all gears became sick after the simple exaust job. The kid who says 99 - 00 SI's are faster than 94 Prelude VTEC will tell you that my Saturn killed SI's. And this kid (19years old almost 20) believes that the B 16 in a civic will kill the H22a in a Prelude body. Nowhere in the world is another Saturn like the one you just read about. The Saturns I see now are slow. And it is dead. If I were to do other modifications on that car it would have been incredibly sick. I think the Prelude h22a 94-95 will kill any B 16.............

That Saturn would have made a good candidate for Turbo. I had no gas, it ran out, and I had octane booster. I decided I was about to get rid of the car so who cares. I used the octane booster as gas. The whole front end of the car picked up while white puffs of smoke came out of the RS Racing muffler. At that point that car was crazy. And guss what, the Saturn DOHC still purred for all the miles I drove it after that :bandit:

did you just decide to go into a random thread and start ranting about nothing? And by the way, I understand why the guy who thinks b16's can beat H22's also believes your Saturn can kill 160hp Si's. ITS BECAUSE HE'S CRAZY!!

And I also doubt this Saturn could beat VTEC Accords either. What year was this accord? Maybe you thought it was a VTEC because he just stuck VTEC stickers on his car. Or maybe you thought you beat him because he had already killed you, and you just decided to blow by him after the race was over, or maybe he didn't even know you guys were racing. Because I highly doubt your Saturn can do all that.

The reason why that person knows why my Saturn beat SI's is because HE DROVE IT and oficially declared it a rocket. And he was driving the VTEC Civic SOHC and he has a lead foot that can double clutch faster than you can blink an eye. Guess what.....believe it this Saturn was this fast.........It is true and no lie. The first time he drove it, it was stock and he said it was incredibly slow. Then I got my Cat Back Hooked Up. After the exaust kicked in after three weeks he got that second ride and changed his mind.
I Know It Sonds Like a MYTH and it may daffle you but I had the one and only FASTSATURN that beat many, many, many, many Civics and Civic SI's. I should have made video's.
But that person swears that SI's are very quick and that SI's beat Prelude VTEC's.
That person says Civic SI's with modifications VS 94 Prelude VTEC with modifications, he says SI's are faster because they are so light. This person says a Civic SI with exaust resonater removed, intake, power steering removed, synthetic oil, etc will beat a 94 Prelude VTEC. He tells me this because I'm buying that car and swears that SI's are faster. I still say I'm coppin a Prelude and I'll beat him again.

Of course this person believes that if you put a H22A in a Civic then of course it's out. He just thinks that Preludes are too weighed down compared to Civics. That his whole argument that when you have a hooked up SI it will beat a Prelude with H22a
