Re: what makes a ricer into a ricer?

Here's what the Urban Dictionary has to say about the word Ricer.

(Ricer: from the latin word Ricarius meaning to suck at everything you attempt)

A person who makes unecessary modifications to their most often import car (hence the term "rice") to make it (mostly make it look) faster. The most common modifications are (but not limited to):

- Huge exhaust that serves no purpose but to make the car louder
- Large spoiler on the back that looks like something Boeing made for the 747
- Lots of after-market company stickers they don't have parts from, but must be cool
- Expensive rims that usually cost more than the car itself
- Bodykit to make the car appear lower, usually accented with chicken wire
- Clear tail lights and corner signals
- A "performace intake"- a tube that feeds cold air to their engine usually located in areas of excessive heat (behind or on top of the engine)
- Most of these riced cars (a.k.a. rice rockets or rice burners) are imports; Honda Civics, Accords, Integras, CRXs, RSXs, Del Sols Mitsubishi Eclipses, Lancers, Subaru Imprezas, however there are some domestics such as Chevrolet Caviliers, Dodge Neons, Ford Focus; small, slow, economy cars designed specifically to go slow. Please note that some Supras, Skylines, WRX's and other higher performance imports are designed to go fast, and are therfore not always considered rice. It really depends on the severity of the case.

The "ricer" attempts to make their car "performance" by adding the modifications listed above. These ricers are not confined to any one ethnic group or color, however different ethnic groups are known for certain styles.

Honda Civics with big spoilers and 4" exhaust tips are considered to be ricers.

Rice can also Include Camaros, Mustangs, Firebirds, Monte Carlo's and other cars. It's the attitude, not the the car.

unless its castrol GTX lol sorry had to say something stupid

oh and I agree that the car doesn't make you a ricer, what you do to it does... so owning a civic doesn't make you a ricer because some civic drivers are acctually smart and can build up a nice car... but in the other sense a camaro, mustang, etc. driver can put neons on the car, a light up shift knob, and chrome rims that just weigh the car down and be a ricer just as much as anyone else

A guy that gets a 80s mustang and gets a honda civic and makes them look like they had sex. Or something like those Supra Light conversions , I do sometimes like them but now there so popular and stupid I hate them. O and omost any body modification sense everyone has played out the body kits and neons. I remember the days when you see L Js garcias honda civic and go crazy that you dont own one.

Re: what makes a ricer into a ricer?

I was in a late autobody class at school working on my best friends chevelle and seriously, we are the only ones there who know about cars and such, so when we see these asian kids putting a SCREEN DOOR on the front of their car, it really cracks us up. I litterally watched them bring in the screen door and cut off the metal from around the door itself and paste it behind their ugly bodykit.

THAT is rice^^^

I should have ran home and got the camera.
