Re: 429 motor

1. Put engine on engine stand.
2. Buy lots of really expensive tools.
3. Tear the engine apart.
4. Take the components to a machine shop.
5. Figure out if parts need to be bored/turned 30 or 60 thousandths over.
6. Decide which internals you need depending on #5 above.
7. Decide what kind of power you are looking for and modify #6 above as necessary.
8. Decide what intake, headers, cam, heads, carb, EFI, etc will best get you there.
9. Pay lots of money for the parts and machine work.
10. Take everything home and assemble.
11. Figure out what needs to be cut, braced, welded, moved, thrown out, etc. of your Tbird in order to make the 429 fit.
12. Get the tranny that you will use, preferably a C6.
13. See #11 above and replace 429 with tranny.
14. Figure out how short or how long your driveshaft needs to be.
15. Get an FRPP rear end with braces cuz what you have currently will break.
16. Get STB's and reinforce every conceivable part of the unibody to eliminate flex/breakage.
17. Find a hood that will clear the intake/carb.

Re: 429 motor

But seriously, that motor is one of the worst that Ford has ever built. Send it to me and I'll properly dispose of it.
