Need your opition...mod now or wait?

I have 2000 bucks i can spend if i want to. So i was thinking about getting a Injen intake system ($180) and a Borla cat-back system ($800) for my 95 base. Now the thing is i'm going to sell it to my dad in a year and get a vr-4. So i'll only have it for another year. Should i spend $1000 bucks and mod my car a little...or use that money to buy the vr-4/mod the vr-4? By next year when i get the vr-4 i should have about $15,000 saved up...the $2000 bucks i have now if not part of the 15,000...so that means i would have 17,000...plus the money that my dad would be paying me for my base and i may even get more then 15,000...so i could have up to 20,000-22,000 or more for buying my vr-4. So, should i mod the base i have now?

Save the cash in some sort of intrest bearing account. Mod the VR-4 in a year.

Dollar to dollar, you'll get more performance per mod in the VR4

Unless, of course, your dad wants the mods done and will pay you for them.

Ask yourself if the .206whp gain is worth the money first.

I think that he might be looking at a gain at the wheels of more like 7/10(fraction) whp. But you should be able to get like 28 mental horsepower out of it.

patience young one...patience

Id say wait till you get the VR-4 then mod the shit outta it.
1. your selling the car, theres no point
2. Modding the car doesnt necessarily up the value of the car at all
3. As others have said, there is more to gain in modding the VR-4 over the base

Those are my plans also, just need to sell this one I have for a good price, but I have all school year. Then CAI, Downpipe, Racepipe, Cat-back, and turn up the boost. I'm also looking into weight reduction as a boost, besides striping the trunk, where else should I look for gains in this area?
