Starter location for 4.0L v6?

Greetings,
I'm trying to find the starter on my 1992 ranger (4.0L v6). I can't see the starter from above or below. I think it's on the passenger side, possibly somewhere below the battery plate?

Hints appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I don't know exactly where it is on your vehicle, but it's going to be mounted where the trans and the engine meet. Look around the circumference of this joining. You can also follow the big red wires off the positive side of the battery, they'll lead there eventually.

I have a 94 Ranger and I replaced the starter last night. Mine was almost in the middle of the truck. It was like a 20 min job to change it.
I could clearly see it from under the truck, but from above I couldnt.
