Exclamation no digital readouts

I just bought a 92 sts at an auction for $1540 (is that good?) I didn't know at the time but the climate control center and the other information center (on the left if the steering wheel) and the odometer stay blank all the time. What do I need to do to fix this, and if its a part that I need to get could someone give a picture of one either in or out of the car. Thanks.

Update

Today I pulled what I think is the computer that controls the climate and other systems. It was behind the glove box and has three connectors going to it. I opened the top (it had a hood-like cover on the top held on by three screws) to reveal a blue IC mount with three chips in it. I removed the blue cover on that to reveal a wealth of spider webs (who would have thought). I'm not to sure but I think this friendly bug may have damaged one or more of the chips.
Now, can I pull the IC from another caddy of the same year or will that change the mileage on mine to possibly more than it has. Or is there a repair service I can find to pull my info out and put it in a working chip?
Thanks, Nick.
