Suggestions/Help on possible cars

Hey, I need some help on finding a nice car. I'm 18 years old, but unlike most of the kids that post here I actually know how to drive and am very responsable. I'm looking to spend 10-15k on a car (used). As of now I drive a 99 Chevy Lumina, the fastest vehicle I've driven to date is a Lightning.

Things I am looking for (pretty much everything) in a car are

a nice overall vehicle
good to great speed
has some kind of show to it (looks nice)
reliable
and hopefully somthing that wont kill my insurance

Cars ive had in mind thus far are

- Newer maximas (altimas any good?) good years 2000-2003 correct?
- 98+ SS Camaro / TransAM
- BMW M3 (also not sure of good years)
- Lexus GS/LS 400 (not sure on diff between GS/LS)
- SRT-4 (would be hard to find one used)
- Subaru WRX (also hard to find one in that price range)
- Maybe a truck? Gas would probably be worse, but a Dakota Sport, or if I was lucky enough to find a Typhoon.

open to any suggestions, if its not a problem please give me a brief overview of the power/anything else of a car suggested.

The difference between the GS and LS is huge...

GS 400

LS 400

I dont know why you'd want to drive one of those Lexus's at the age of 18. I would say an E36 M3 is the best out of the cars you listed, good blend of performance and luxury, and they look nice too.

Really like the trans am idea (unless it rains or snows alot where you live) but I think insurance would kill you in that car... what about a used infiniti I30?

thanks for the suggestions. I just spent about 2 hours reading about the e36 M3 it seems like a great car, the only thing is it seems insurance will be horrible with it, and its an expensive car as far as maintnance goes.
