rear wiper help......

so my rear wiper is not working right, it seems to be squirting water into the hatchback of the car(golf 2001 tdi). i took it to the dealer and they told me that i have to replace the whole rear wiper assembly....$300...yikes....so i was wondering if someone knows where the hose for the rear wiper fluid is. i was going to just un hook it and figure i would go without fluid, and still have the wiper work. or if someone knows a cheap solution for this problem, that would be great....
