Good car or not?
Looking at a 97 Cougar XR7 with the V8, 72k, optioned out, $5000.
Is this a good deal, is this a reliable car, any known problems?

with the V8 it is an excellent vehicle.
I'd check around for prices on other similar vehicles in the classifieds, auto traders and on line sounds close in price though. JD

while I'm not a big fan of fords - the cougars (WITH THE V-8 ONLY) are normaly good cars - their typical problems are minimal and usualy easy to fix - good luck
