Heater Controls

Howdy,

I have an 87 Cherokee, wonder if you all could help me. Pretty much all that works on the heating is the defroster, no vent or bi-level or floor. I replaced the controls unit and still just the defroster. Vaccuum line, another bad control unit...what might be the problem?

Appreciate any advice.

Re: Heater Controls

Defrost is the default position when there is a loss of vacuum to the unit.

Get a cheep vacuum gauge ane check for vacuum signal at the connection to the control. If there is vacuum there(engine vacuum), and still none of the other positions work, you could try a direct connection to the vacuum servos at the other locations to see if each of them work without leaking.

Re: Heater Controls

Like xj31 said, Look at your vac tank in the front bumper on the right side, check your lines, This HAS TO BE hooked up to operate your vent controls.
