turn signal/remove steering wheel 92 Regal
Howdy,
I am new here and actually found this site when I searched the web to solve a problem with my Regal. The left turn signal is not working, it's not the bulb since the hazards work. Neither the indicator lights on the dashboard nor the click-click sound work, either. When I turn the signal on, the front turn signal does not do anything. The rear turn signal is on but does not flash. The right turn signal works perfectly, incl. click-click and indicator lights, though. I think I narrowed it down with the help of one of these do-it-yourself books. There was a wiring plan in it. Since neither the click-click nor the indicators work, I think it must the the turn signal switch. I have one problem, though: I have no clue how to remove the steering wheel so that I can access the lever with the switch! Does anyone of you guys know how to? And do you think I am right with my assumption that it is the switch? Thanks, HarleyK |

Re: turn signal/remove steering wheel 92 Regal
Did you replace the flasher unit first to see if it is bad? They will usually go bad before the switch. If you have done that then you need to remove the steering wheel. But first, Do you have an airbag? If you do don't try to replace this yourself you may activate the air bag and cause yourself a lot of grief. If you don't then you will need a steering wheel puller and a locking plate compressor. You can rent both from Autozone. First, remove the center of the steering wheel to access the mounting nut. Remove the nut and use the puller to pull the steering wheel. Then use the locking plate compressor to remove the locking ring. Once this is done you can access the stalk and the switch which is fairly easy to replace, just a couple of screws and a couple of wires. This is also a good time to replace the stalk as they go bad too and why do this twice. Simple reassemble and you should be good to go.
