2000 Sunfire radio swap procedures...
CD player in stock Delco radio in 2000 Sunfire isn't working. To swap another "like" unit in, should we disconnect the battery first? Easy enough to get to the radio unit, only 4 screws, but don't want to disconnect the old unit before knowing first. Dealership wants to charge $75-150 to replace it for me, only took 5 minutes to pull it from the dash last night.
Thanks...Art |

Not necessary to disconnect the battery.

Re: 2000 Sunfire radio swap procedures...
Thanks...didn't have to go that far after all. Dealer called Wednesday afternoon, said he'd had a new radio Fed Ex'd in and to bring the car over and they'd swap it out free of charge. Couldn't beat that. Boy said they even washed the car for him!
