I cleaned the plenum, EGR valve, PCV, has too many carbon. Truck start Ok, doesnt´s dies at drive and brake action, no SES ligth. Please help me with some things to do and check before view my mechanic and pay his Vacations at Las Vegas this year. Thanks |

Catalytic Convertor is destroyed if your exhaust smells like sulphur or rotten eggs.
You probably melted the internal substrate when you had the internal fuel leak. The fuel will go into the exhaust and into the cat where is will burn and melt everythign inside creating a practically solid and un passible mess. Definitely time for the new cat. |

Re: 93´ Vortec CPI W Blazer fro dummies, neededĄ
I had a similar problem on a 93 S-10 Vortec CPI. My gas milage went into the toilet. I averaged approx. 330 miles to a tank, and suddenly dropped to 220 miles per tank. The problem was the CPI, the fuel was leaking inside the plenum. I had it fixed at a garage and 1 year later it did the same thing again. (The poor performance and terrible gas milage is a dead give-away) Luckily, the garage honored their warranty and fixed the leak a 2nd time. After that, it hasn't given me any trouble.

yea, he has already checked and that is where he fixed the leaky line already. His CPI is not leaking.
The sulphur smell from the exhaust is a dead giveaway for a bad cat. |

I don't see where he mentions a sulphur smell. All I know is that it is possibly still leaking as the symptoms sound the same.

I am sorry about that, I have been talking to this guy via PM to get the problems solved and he told me this through our troubleshooting. The plugged cat will also cause the grown like a motorcycle at 50mph. |

No Problem LT. I have owned 4 different S-10 Blazers, an 89, 93, 2001, and a 2000 Jimmy, and have fixed most of their problems myself. I am just trying to help if and where I can.
Thanks for all you do. Keep up the good work. |

Oh my god!
That is horrible! Look at all that fuel in the driver's side. You are SOOOO lucky you didn't hydrolock the motor. That for sure is the reason why you cat was cooked. All the excess fuel was going to your cat where it was burning and melting the substrate. |
