1994 6 cylinder idles too fast when cold

After it is first started after it is cold it idles at about 2000 rpm for a minute or two and then drops down. I recently changed the fuel filter, radiator hoses and the air filter. After that it started this. I did find one small hose that had came loose on top of the rubber air inlet above the air filter but that didn't seem to help when I reattached it. Any ideas?

Thanks

i have the same thing happening to my camry. it is just merely revving the engine up so that it will start because of the cold weather, and although the car is started, the engine is still cold, therefore it will take a minute or two for the engine to heat up and reduce the rpm... i dont think this is a problem.

If you perceive the idle to be inordinately fast when cold, do a search for IAC, Idle Air Control. It may need cleaning.
