I was reading along here and I saw that people had problems with the security light coming on..Well I wanted to know if some tried to steal my 92RS by breaking the cloumn and putting a srew-driver in the ingition would the security light come on then?? And more important would the car start?

I dont think it would start like that because a 92 would have VATS security system which worked fairly well as an anti theft system.

since you have a 92, u got vats, they started that system in 1988 or 89 i believe. so if they screwdrivered the lock, it wouldnt start. the key has a resistor inside it, one of 15 different values, and if the vats decoder doesnt detect the right value, it disables the starter and the fuel injectors. the only way it would is if the vats system has a fault where it goes into fault mode and the security lites up and stays on while driving, then the car will start no matter what key it has. long story short, if the system works ur safe.

VATS can be bipassed, but not easily, and not by your average joe car thief. otherwise, its a pretty sound system, until it goes bad and you have to fix it. then its just a bitch...
