Radiator Drain plug removal - help

I know this is probably real easy, but how the hell do you get the radiator drain plug open? Do you need some special tool to fit the curved shape of that thing?

Trying to do a thermostat install.

Thanks.

Re: Radiator Drain plug removal - help

most GM plastic tank radiators have a plastic drain cock that only requires a 1/4 turn to open. They are designed to stay in the radiator, if you try to remove it completely, you will break it. Unless it's broken, there should be a wing-nut like deal that you grab to loosen it
