Buick GSX in Apollo White (pics inside)!

Here is the latest project that I finally finished. I painted it in white since there where less than 200 white ones made in this year (`70), so it is more rare than yellow. This was built from Revell`s Buick GSX kit, using the stock parts options. The kit went together pretty well except for the usual fit problems with the hood and body, and removing all the seam lines. The overall detail was surprisingly decent considering this is an old tool. I think the body lines are for the most part proportionate and really capture the look of the real car.
I painted the interior a mix of half flat and half gloss black for a vinyl look. I also carpted the floor black. The outside is plastikote automotive spray, no primer, and no clear coat. I think I put about 4 coats on it. I used bare metal foil to mask off the outside edges of the hood to paint the black parts. Let me know what you think!

I'm not a big fan of domestics, but the model itself looks great, especially the interior.

Keep up the good work and be sure to submit it to the gallery.

Thanks guys! I sanded the body with 2000 grit sandpaper after painting it. I waited about 2 weeks for it to dry before doing so. I then used 3M`s scratch remover to get it glossy, and finally polished it with Meguires polish.
Now on to the Ferrari Modena Spyder or F50. Or maybe the Porsche boxter. I can`t decide.

Great interior. Great shine on the exterior. It looks really nice.

I have one question though. Was it hard to get the decal around the door handle? Because it looks like the handle is right over the decal. How did you do it?

Yeah I forgot to mention what a pain the decals were. There was actually a slot in the decal which was supposed to allow you to slip the decal over the door handle, and the handle would go through the slot. Of course the handle was much larger than the slot in the decal, so I had to cut away as best I could. I messed up on the drivers side, so actually the lines right above and below the door handle were painted on with a [very] small brush.

That looks fantastic! Very 'period' and everything I love about that era!

Well done, keep going like that and you'll convince me to do one!!!

on the edges and it looks great !!:bandit:
