Unhappy confused.....

I'm slightly confused about something, all the research that I have done on the 92 camaro rs would suggest that I have a 700-r4 transmission. Now I have asked and have been told on this forum that my 92 rs's tranny is not compatible with a 350 however other research I have done shows the 700-r4 to be compatible. I'm not sure which it is, is it going to work for me on a 350 or not? I currently have the 3.1. If anyone can offer a definite answer it would be greatly appreciated.

i'm not so sure that it will bolt up to a small block. i was at the junk yard the other day getting speedo gears from a 700R4, and this tranny had a real narrow bell housing, the guy told me if was from an S-10. i know the 4.3 and small blocks share the same bell housing pattern but i'm not sure about the 3.1.

Re: confused.....

I think what's confusing you is somethign like what was confusing me a little while back. I have a 4l60e, and so do some z28's.... but putting it the simplest way i can, the v6 and the v8 ones are different lol.

Re: confused.....

Yea the V6 transmissions have a different bell housing than the v8 ones. Your best bet is to find a v8 tranny when you get the 350.
