Pic request, hard to find F1

I've been searching everywhere, even on google for a pic of the original non converted U.S. spec F1's that had the rectangular headlights, no driving/fog lights, bumpers covering front turnsignals, and missing passenger seats. I remember they were featured in a '97 issue of either Road&Track or Car&Driver and also in the DuPont Registry.

Even if someone can remember the name of the company that originally imported and distributed the F1's would be helpful as well, Thanks in advance.

I take it you didn't look through any recent threads before posting this.

No worries really, but we were just discussing "Amerispec Corp" - the company who imported and converted the 7 Ameritech F1s that made it in to the USA in a thread near the top of this forum.

Anyway I have the photo you are looking for - it was scanned from the Road&Track article on the Ameritech F1 from their December 1997 issue. I'll also include a shot of the converted interior as well with the covers installed over the two side seats.

Understand that none of the Ameritech F1s that Amerispec Corp imported will still look like this. All of them will have been converted fully back to their stock configuration once making it in the door here. The conversion process supposedly did not require drilling one single hole in the cars. Lastly, it has been reported that some of the 7 Ameritech F1s may never have been converted to look like this during their certification process at all.
