Learned My Lesson

2 nights ago wihle driving home, i was going about 80 down I65 (65 mph limit) and some kiddo in a civic hatch with vtec was swirving through the lines, so i decided to catch him... so about 101 he kicks in the vtec and i just keep on the gas... about 110 he get's behind me and slows down. I slow down to about 60 when some idiot in a lancer turns into my lane hitting my passenger side door. crunched my fender and dented my bumper. AIr bags deply and i slam on brakes.... thankfully it was just me and him... the lancer's front in was basically caved in as well... it was about 11 and we sat there until about 1150 when the cops came. He had been drinking and was in better shape than me... my side hurts and the doc said that i'd be fine, no internal bleeding or anything, just some small bruising.. he said it was the seatbelt that kept my injury minor. Thank God, and you know, i'm done. that's it. no more racing for me on the street.... when i get my car fixed i'll post pics... i got a pic of it in it's shape now that i'll post.

hood's crinkled also... insurance said it wa shis fault.. but i'll keep you informed on what happens...

for those who think that when you're speeding around that your invincible... your not... and i don't want to sound like my dad, but just keep it safe and make sure there's not any other drivers on the road whom can interfere.

Re: Learned My Lesson

Why's there rust on it if it just happened recently, And it look's more like you hit something instead of someone hitting you..

Re: Learned My Lesson

It's good to have a wake-up call every once in a while. I usually fuck up and shred a tire every month or two, and it keeps me in line.

Re: Learned My Lesson

when i get the body fixed i'm going to just race at the track in irvington... it's a bit too risky on the streets nowadays. I dunno, i'm not a sell out, i bought in.

or something. Knowing me though, i'll probably be driving to my girl's house with her in the car and be tempted by another guy... hopefully a lancer... revenge...

not meaning i'm gonna slam into anyone... just if a lancer begins to rev.... after all is said and done, imma gonna smoke him.

i guess i was just a lil shaken up by it... it's scary ya know?

I saw an Evo the other day with the rear wing removed... I had did a double take on it, but there was no mistaking how the car was moving that it wasn't the real deal.

I'm sure some people get fooled by that guy quite often.

Re: Learned My Lesson

Yeah, it's probably a good thing (or it at elast has a sillver lining). You survived, no one was too terrbibly hurt, and you got a wake up call. All too often people forget that they aren't invinsible, including me. Good luck with you car.

i guess i must hvae a good eye since to me a lancer looks nothing like hte EVO. no flare fenders, no angry looking head lights, no special shaped rear bumper, no front air dam, and no vented hood.

but the easiest give away is the flare fender, its very noticable and you can't fake that.

Re: Learned My Lesson

Yea I think evos have a different attitude. The lancers look like "mitsubishi civics" to me.

yea, it should be easy for car guys to tell if its a lancer evo. its overall width, and shape should give it away. even its frame around the rear windows is thicker. rs models usually dont come with a rear wing, but you can get one as an option.
