Purchasing a gsr
Hey everyone i am looking at getting a 95 GSR v-tech teg its got 145,000 miles on it and its going for about 3 grand. What i was wondering is will that engine still be relyable for close to another 100,000?
basically what i want to know is will this car last me a while after i buy it even though it has so heavy miles. are tegs reliable after the 100,000 mark? thanks for your help |

Re: Purchasing a gsr
Yes, I think that they are relyable over 100,000 miles as long as they have been taken care of. And just for future reference its (vtec) not (vtech they make phones and things)

Definately. GSR's are reliable as hell. I had a 94 GSR that got totaled, but before that, it was at 90,000 and I raced it all of the time. My friend has a 95 GSR with 180,000 miles and he races that all of the time. Its still runs like a charm, and no, no rebuild has been needed yet.

i loved my 94 gsr. i beat and beat on it, but the motor stayed solid. the only problem i had with it (as i've had w/ all honda's cept my type r) was the clutch. it went out around 105k, but it was a nice excuse for my act xtss clutch.
so i say go for it. think of it this way, u don't have to break it in .
