Question Boost question?

Hello, I just have a quick question. I have a 92 mr2 turbo with a greddy profec b boost controller. When I set my boost, I was in 3rd and also did some runs in 4th gear, I finally fixed the problem I was having, but now when I start off from 1st, the boost only reaches 0.6bar, 2nd gear hits 0.8bar and from 3rd on, the boost is dead at 1.0bar. Is this expected from the ct26? I know it won't hit max boost levels in first gear, but should there be such a jump between gears. Thanks in advance for replies.

Sab

Re: Boost question?

... just one of the reasons I do not like the GReddy BC. The Blitz has no "learning modes" to set boost in.

I suspect that BC is limiting you.

So the Greddy Profec B has a "learning mode"? I wasn't aware of this.

Re: Boost question?

Isn't that how you are setting boost in 3rd gear?

**maybe I am wrong. I have a PRofecB years ago (1996!) ... and I recall having to do runs in 3rd gear so that it could "learn" the boost curve.

Re: Boost question?

I wasn't told anything about that. I do the runs in 3rd and 4th due to the added load on the engine as apposed to the lack of load in lower gears. Tuning boost in higher gears, I always thought was the most accurate way to do it. But if I am going about this the wrog way, just let me know. Thanks

Re: Boost question?

You are correct ... setting boost in 3rd or 4th is best.

What do you have to do on the Profec to set boost?

Re: Boost question?

It has 2 dials, 1 for low boost, 1 for high boost. You just push it in so it can be turned to set lower/higher boost. I have the low boost setting set to .5bar. A high boost setting of 1.0bar in 3rd-5th gears. 1st only goes to like .5 or .6 bar, and 2nd goes to around .6 or .7-ish. Still pulls good, but I would like to hit the set boost level in all gears even of it is just for a second! Thanks

Re: Boost question?

I think that I may have the same contoller as you do. The only thing mine has different from yours is a "Balance" dial. Im still trying to figure out how to set it.
