Fan not working, plz help!!!

I was just on my way home, tonight (very cool weather) and I started to overheat 240 and a bit more. I stoped the car and the fan was not on. I went ahead and spun the fan, and it turned on. The temp went down to 225, than it started to heat up again. I looked and the fan was not on.. I am not sure what to do, 89 bird, is my whole life. I kidd you not, and I wont be able to sleep tonight. Damn, plz help.
I will check the wires tomorow but I am betting its the fan motor. I will put in a new aftermarket fan, but if that does not work I will need your help.
Thanks, you guys are always good help.

Racing is like boxing, if a lightweight challenges a heavyweight, you know that the lightweight will be fast, but in the end the heavyweight will knock the shit out of the lightweight.

Re: Fan not working, plz help!!!

Thanks badazz240, I checked all my wires, fuses and they all looked good. What really troubled me was that the fan would work if I actually spun it. This ofcourse ment that the power to it was fine, but there was something wrong with the motor. I opened the motor and moved one of the wires, and bam it worked. Than I went ahead an bought a new motor, so I dont need to worry. The new motor works much faster and better without any noise. Also when my fan would slow down after shut down, it would make squeaking noise as it slowly stoped spinning. This might have been the indicator of something wrong! So if you have this kind of problem check your wires fuses, and than try fixing or replacing the motor. Ofcourse its adviseable for you to just change your motor as is (on a car 15yrs or older) cuz it will work to its full power.
Thanks again and good luck
