What the crap, my headlights are growing mold

I couldn't put it to mind after a few weeks of wondering what didn't look right, but my headlights now have this crappy yellowish film growing on the outside of them. Is there any way to get rid of this stuff? Help

Re: What the crap, my headlights are growing mold

It looks like mold but it isn't. It's a thin yellowish film, kinda gritty on just the front part of the headlights. I tryed washing it off, but water has no effect. I can actually take my finger nail and scratch little lines of it all but it leaves little marks on the headlight assembly.

Its the same stuff that you see on the 6th gen headlights. It's getting worse man. Is there a chemical you can put on it to get it off. Help

Re: What the crap, my headlights are growing mold

hmm weird, i figured it wasnt mold because the heat from the lights would burn the mold i suppose (i wouldnt know lol)

But i guess try some sorta cleaning solvent. Oughta do the trick. If not, then its a good reason to get either projectors or new OEM headlightz lol

Re: What the crap, my headlights are growing mold

Try chrome polish, that should take it off. Old trick people used to use when headlights were still made of glass.

Re: What the crap, my headlights are growing mold

Thanks everyone. I'm going out tommorow to buy some of the stuff you guys listed. Hopefully that'll do the trick, but if not then I certainly start looking at some projectors. But I thought that our headlights were glass and that this film couldn't grow on it?
