need help with emissions b16a 1

setup


88 civic dx hatch
b16a from 89 integra xsi ys1 lsd trans
iceman intake ( not cold air)
stock fuel, header,ecu pr3

highflow cat (supposed to be legal)
2 1/4" custom pipeing apexi n1 muffler

the engine runs strong 14.5 quarter mile with only i/e/


the limit for hydrocarbons was 220 it ran 811
limit for co 1.8 it ran 4.8

what can i do?

oh yeah, it passed the idle test but failed the fast idle, at 2500rpms

is it a high flow cat or just a resinator, I'v seen tuns of supoosed high flow cats on ebay that were nothing more than a resonator. that is an american motor it should pass smog. try changing your o2 sensor, spark plugs, run some injector cleaner though it, put new air filter (or clean yours).

ok high HC is ignition problem (cap rotor wires plugs or a distro problem) high co is a FUEL problem (O2s sticky injector sounds to me like u need a REAL cat from the auto parts store ditch that high flow crap cuz i've seen LOTS of them fail and try that and put on a stock air box that should also help 2

Just my 2cents... what do i know i'm just a smog tech..
