Re: Check Engine Codes

Differential Pressure Feedback Electronic Sensor circuit Low Voltage. DPFE sensors are known to fail on fords they updated them late 2002 with a plastic unit that doesnt break so easy it seems. I replace a few a month on our fleet vehicles. I manage 150+ at our branch alone.
DPFE should be at .3 to 1.3 volts with no vacume
vacumme applied above 13 pounds or so should be above 4 or so
voltage should drop below 2.5 within 2 secs when u release vacumme.

Re: Check Engine Codes

if your vehicle has under 60,000 miles email me your 17 digit vin and I can tell you if ford will replace the part for free under a warantee extetion that is currently offered on most ford vehicles

Rivguy:

I'd be interested in seeing if my Sable is covered under the extended warranty. VIN is 1MEFM55S51A604224

Thanks, bobossman

Re: Check Engine Codes

you had the extention but it has expired by mileage - you do however have a recall 04S17 open to have spring shields installed on the front to protect against tire blowout when the springs break - and trust me they do break
