Brake pads

I have a 2003 tacoma 2WD. This is the first Toyota I have ever owned. I have 36,000 miles on it and the front brake pads look brand new! I have been hearing a squeal from the right front of the truck. The same sound that you would here when your brake pads are worn down to the indicator. The squeal seems to appear after the brakes have been warmed up (applied a few times). My braking is good. I have never had a car/truck that I didn't change the front brakes on by the time the vehicle hit 30,000 miles. Is this normal? Should I change the pads just because of the mileage? Thanks

Mike

Re: Brake pads

There is no need to change your pads just because of your odometer. If there is good pad thickness, don't replace them. Squeaking can be caused by a number of things. I am not familiar enough with your brakes to give you good advise on what can be done to stop the squeaking. Are you still under warranty? Maybe the dealer will help you.
