Greek athletes
Call me a sceptic, but im finding this hard to believe
Greek Olympic dope probe pair hurt in accident ATHENS - Top Olympic Greek sprinters Costas Kenteris and Katerina Thanou were injured Friday in a motorcycle crash shortly after missing drugs tests that could prompt their expulsion from the Athens Games. The double drama triggered shock across Greece, hours before the opening ceremony. Television and radio stations broke into programs in the early hours to announce Olympic 200 meters champion Kenteris and Thanou, 100 meters silver medalist at the 2000 Sydney Games, were in hospital. Officials said the pair were not seriously hurt but it was unclear whether either would be able to appear before a disciplinary hearing ordered by International Olympic Committee President Jacques Rogge, who has vowed to catch all drug cheats. "As you will understand their psychological state was not good [before the accident]. It seems [the injuries are] not something very serious," Greek athletics federation chief Vassilis Sevastis told reporters outside the hospital. "They will stay overnight in the hospital," he said. The hearing was due to take place at 9 a.m. (0600 GMT). Kenteris, the only man to win the Olympic, world and European 200 meters titles, is a national hero in Greece and has been the host nation's best medal hope at the Games. The pair were absent from the Olympic Village when IOC officials arrived Thursday to conduct drugs tests. Greek officials blamed a mix-up over their nonappearance. A missed drugs appointment is normally treated as a failed test and leads to immediate suspension from competition. The doping drama swept the Games city, with some people bursting into tears at the news about the man they call "Greece Lightning."

There are over 10,000 people competing in the games. One or two are bound to get hurt.

Re: Greek athletes
Yes. And how convenient it was for these two to get hurt shortly after missing a drugs test, but not get serious injuries. Apparently no one told them they had a drugs test. What a fucking joke

Re: Greek athletes
Not at all, im watching the opening ceremony on tv and theyre talking about it. All the athletes are druggies, even Carl Lewis who has the nerve to criticise the "drug cheats". Dick.
