my gt vs. jetta 1.8t

ok my friend is always bragging about how his car is fast...his car is a newer...prolly 2000 or 2001 jetta 1.8t 5 Speed. So far he had done NOTHING to it. Supposedly he is supposed to get a short throw shifter (25 whp right? ) and a blow off valve eventually

my question is how would i do dragging him. my mods on my GT are thrasher CAI, u-bend delete, dynomax cat back, and knowing how to drag

what does a newer jetta 1.8t 5 speed run 0-60???

JUST FOR SOME INFO HERE ARE MY TIMES AT AN 1/8 MILE DRAG STIP IN MAGNOLIA, OHIO.

BEST RUN but not best reaction : Ran on a kinda hot day, still working on reaction times.

reaction .765
60ft 2.457
ET 10.524
Mph 66.76

thanks guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They run a high 15 stock so it should be a pretty close race. When he ups the boost on that turbo your going to get owned.

JoeJoe, lets get you a better picture. I would like to see your car.
You know it's getting bad when you have to worry about VWs. The GTPs are talking about Mustangs and the GT about VWs. What's this world coming to?

Re: my gt vs. jetta 1.8t

Sounds like another episode of Motor Week, where they like to put American cars in unfair match ups, then talk about how poorly our cars perform in their biased tests......Where can we begin?..The Jetta 1.8T is 180 hp/173lb ft, 5-speed trans, has 20 valves, and weighs only 2973 lbs. As we all know, the Grand Prix is heavy at 3560 lbs, not available w/ manual trans, and has only 12 valves to help it breathe. Even so, a stock GTP should still smoke a stock Jetta 1.8T off the line.
