vtec

vtec-isnt it like valve timing and emissions conrol or something? and what does it do and how does it work? i heard it's like a solenoid or something that is enguaged when enough oil gets to the head which the dumps more gas in the carb. is any this true and/or how does it work?please respond with any help . thanks!

i wish there was a simpilar explanation.
i dont really understand. isnt that what high lift cams do? is make the intake valve stay open a little longer to allow a bit more fuel/air into the combustion chamber? can someone explain vtec as simple as possible?

Actually in Japan and Europe there were carbed models till the late 90's.
