'96 Lumina Radio Doesn't Work...HELP!!!
Ok, the radio in my '96 Lumina doesn't work. When I turn the radio on, I won't get any music or noise...it's just silence. And then randomly, there will be a burst of volume, maxxed out, for just a second and then silence again. I just switched out the factory installed radio and put in a newer one, but that didn't help at all. Any ideas?

Did the aftermarket radio have radom operation too, or just not work at all? It sounds like the cicuit breaker in the amp circuit?

do the later luminas have factory amplifiers? If so, I would check all connections to that.

Re: Re: '96 Lumina Radio Doesn't Work...HELP!!!
The aftermarket radio works slightly better than the stock one, but it is random as well. I noticed last night that when I turned on the rear window defogger that I could hear a pop in the speakers. Could the lines be crossed and that's causing my problems?

Re: '96 Lumina Radio Doesn't Work...HELP!!!
You may find the amp located more than likely just below the glove box door, up underneath the dash. At least that's where they were located in the earlier models. -Chris
