Question Normal engine temp

hey does anyone know the proper operating engine temp for a 95 3.1L? Mine seems to run 195-212 fan truns on at 230-240? just wondering cuz I have a temp gauge that acts alittle funny.

I question my o.t. also. I have a 00 GTP and it is very hot here in Vegas. The temp fluctuates alot. I also would like to know if someone has a breakdown of the temp gauge. It starts at 160 then a big line half way between that and 210. Is that the 180 line. Mine used to sit at the first big line above 160 always until I moved here and now it fluctuates between that and the 210 mark.

Welcome to the desert...Our radiators our small and just dont seem to cool very well....and the only one larger is from www.zzperformance.com I had a problem with my T/A getting hot and put in one from a company called Be-Cool and it can be 105 here and not have any problems driving in stop and go traffic now.

My GTP also seems to get a bit warm, 200 and warmer in stop and go traffic and im sure that the one from Zommer would do the trick.....as our cars seem to be fine as long as they are moving and not stoping at the ligths in the heat of the summer.Ours cars are suppose to run at 195 and warmer and even when putting in a colder T-Stat (160/180) it will still run hotter then that in the stop and go mode.
