Question Tyrrell 020 color ?

I'm triyng to understand what's the right color for the Tyrrell 020 1991, the Tamiya instructions are, in my opinion, misleading with the "TS-42 Light Gun Metal", from all the pictures from internet and magazines the main color look like a deep metalized blue.

hints ?

thanks

I think the colour is correct. Somewhere in one of my books I've got a picture of it in good light and it's definitely a light greyish metalic colour. (probably one of the Schlegelmilch books). I think regular gunmetal mixed with a bit of black might work for how it looks in most pictures though.

I painted mine with TS-42 and it looks great! One of my favorite kits. Mind you, I should have painted the white wings on the front. The decal looks ok but it could have been a better with ease...

Here's too pics with a bit of light on them...

Re: Tyrrell 020 color ?

The 020 ran a couple of seasons IIRC. 1991 in the grey and white livery and a Honda engine. And somewhat modified in 1992 to use a Ford engine with a predominantly blue livery. Maybe this is what is confusing the issue?
Anyway if building the 1991 car go with the grey - it is correct. Any bluishness is probably caused by reflections.

Dark gunmetal, almost black. Of course this is coming from print media and my VCR tapes which are NTSC format converted from the original PAL version...which really screws up the color.
