Anyone know the price range for a good catalytic converter for a 96 Eclipse GS-T?

As you all know, without a catalytic converter, my eclipse won't pass emissions here in NJ. The guy sold me it with straight pipe. Though it optimizes the Eclipse's performance, it's friggin illegal. With that, does anyone know how much a good/decent catalytic converter would run for? Any help would be appreciated...

You would have to buy a stock one somewhere. Because the stock ones are almost as low resistance as possible before you fail smog. So aftermarket ones will either make you fail or not work any better then stock. Try a junkyard or something if all else fails you can always try a mitsu dealership.

Dude if your going to be spreadin info over the net, try and know what your talking about. The dealers on ebay sell test pipes as high flow cats. Every one of those high flow cats you linked to were shiny resonators. If you dont know what a real cat is the only clue is the for offroad use only in tiny words at the bottom. It is legal as an exhaust component but does not legally replace your cat. Now wouldn't it suck if you dropped 60 bucks on this "catilytic converter" just to fail emissions. I got a nice 3" magnaflow on ebay cheap, so they are there, you just have to know what you are looking for. I have not tried to pass emissions with it yet so I cannot vouch for whether it will do what you need.

I purchase the Hi-Flow Cat from extrememotorsports.com and passed emissions (So I can vouch for that product)

Here is the link:

That one is for the GST

Just throw it on there for the test, and take it off afterwards. Find a temporary stock cat, and chunk it when the test is done. Good thing about S.C., no emission test
