Honda Chassis Codes - JDM
Can anyone tell me what the chassis code is for a 2000 jdm 4dr civic and if the front bumper is the exact same as a 2000 usdm 4dr civic.
thanks Darren

If this is what you are talking about...
![]() Then Honda lists it as the E-EK4. My guess is that the noses are interchangable, but I'm only guessing. |

Setanta thats a 1996-1998 civic, the 1999-2000 is facelifted
EK4 is a civic hatchback with a b16a (SiR i think) i could be wrong?? so in another world i don't know???

Ummm... I took it off Honda's site, along with the chassis designation. Somehow I don't think that Honda got the chassis code wrong

Different models for the 4 door actually - Si and Si II are listed as EK4s.
Vi, Mi, ML = E-EK3 EL = E-EK2 Si II and Si = E-EK4 RTi = E-EK5 All are listed as 1995 onwards. Facelifts don't usually change the chassis codes as I recollect ![]() Data from here: http://world.altavista.com/sites/nze..._up.html%23RTi |

the strange thing is that the B16a hatchback has the same code Ek4??? so i don't know whats going on, the EG model is different when a B16a hatchback is a EG6 and a B16a Sedan is a EG9

The only thing I can think is that the Si and Si II both carry a B16 (too lazy to check
). Maybe they have a similar front end to the coupe as in mounting points compared to the other motors? Not that I really care - EF9 rules :smoker2:

I think he got all the answer he was ever going to get
![]() EG6 rocks... from the displacement of air around an EF9 as the EF9 blows past it :silly2: |

Thanks everyone
I had completely forgotten about this thread (well it was 14 days before I got a reply )Too tell you the truth I'm kinda confused about chassis codes. My car is a 2000 4dr Civic manufactured in Japan. It's chassis code is EJ9. A hatchback from '98 has the same code. I got the information I needed anyway. thanks again
