A six CD Alpine stacker for a 04 s type Jag...Other than paying the Jaguar dealer extreme prices for an Alpine CD stacker, , does anyone here at the Jag. forum know of a well trusted company (anywhere) that sells the high quality Alpine CD stacker to work like factory with my 04 S type stock CD system?

I have an S-type 4.2 sport. Finding aftermarket audio of any kind is tough because everything (I was told) is fiber pre-wired by Jag, so you almost are forced to go to back to a dealer. I regret not getting the Alpine system but I fell in love with my car and wanted it immediately..........

Now I want an "R" bad........

Thanks for you reply, and you are so right! I was told by the tech. at hi-fi-buys (aka: Tweeter) that this year 04 "S" type have went to fiber optics, digital, and the old analog system will not work on the 04.

Sooo it is off the Jag dealer to pay $1200.00 for an six disc CD stacker installed in my parents S type for a early Christmas present for them. (I own a new 2004 BMW 530i, and it is nice, quick, and handles BMW well! But I really like the 04 S type of my parents. My next car will probably be a Jaguar, (Ladies love the Jag's! (SEE BELOW INSERT)

In fact read below what was said in 2004 magazine I found on the www about Jaguar Vs BMW 530i and Mercedes.

My local Sound Advice-Sarasota FL- has one for around $360 installed. They mave have to order a special connector -about a 3-day delay.

Also is this CD stacker an Alpine Six CD stacker unit, along with: "digital fiber optics" set up, (not analog), and will it work in conjunction with my CD player set up on my 2004 S type? (I hope so! That price is awesome).

By the way, how is the weather there in Sarasota, FL right now? We Georgians realize Hurricane's are very dangerous, and nothing to take lightly, but I am sure you guys are about to get hurricane out, but know this, that all people in FL are in our prayers for a speedy and safe ocutcome from this adverse weather!

did you ever have any luck finding a cheaper route for the disk changer? I am trying to decide b/w a changer, or an aftermarket DVD Nav. system-but I just like the factory look.
