My car runs but it won't exceed 2500 RPM's

THE MAJOR PROBLEM IS THAT my car DOES run but it will not exceed 2500 RPM's. Im not sure exactly whats wrong with it, but from all the research ive done, I believe there is a vacuum hose leak. Im NOT exactly sure if that is what is wrong, but thats the most logical conclusion i have come to from the research i have done.

What do you guys think please help

Mass Airflow Sensor, Coolant Temp Sensor, or ECU. Have fun.

Sounds like a timing problem to me. Read the manual about finding out the timing. Hard to explane with words.

That one. I had the same prob. See if messing with the connection on it or moving the assembly around makes a difference in how the car runs. That will help narrow the problem down

if your air flow set-up is anything like the 300zx then it could also possibly be the AAC valve or air regulator. like i said though, i dont even know if 240's have these things but they possibly do beings the same year 300zx does. AAC valve controls cold starts and idle. If it is removed or switched off your car will not exceed so many RPM's. i have heard of people arming this valve to a switch so when they valet their car the person driving can not exceed so many RPM's.

Check The Ecu For Codes.

Maf
Ect
Aac
Air Regulator
Are The Major Systems To Check. If The Vehicle Is Limited To 2500 Rpms (can't Go Any More... Like A Rev Limiter) That Means The Ecu Is In Limp Home Mode Because Of A Electrical Sensor Failure.
