coming home from our son football practice we heard a noise coming from what sounded like the front tire,(I just put new front rotors and brake pads on the front)... when we got home i looked down and noticed that the rear tire had came loose and three of the lug bolts had broken off. i have removed all of the brake parts and the park brake off but cant get the two damaged lug bolts out and can see know way to get the replacement lug bolts back in....
i need someones help on this one what has to be done next? is there a specal tool needed? can i do this myself? any info will be so helpful thanks john |

Re: how to replace broken lug bolts?
You need to disconnect the axle inside the differential and slide it out. Make sure you have a tube of RTV and 3 quarts of 75w140 synthetic gear oil. Take the diff cover off, remove the bolt in the carrier that holds the retainer pin in (use an 8mm or 5/16" 6-point socket or box wrench), and slide the pin out. Push the axle in enough to remove the C-clip, then slide the axle out. The lug nuts should be torqued to 100 ft-lbs.

Re: how to replace broken lug bolts?
Basiclly same thing. Is yours front or back. Also posting in the appropriate forum would be a good idea. There are more people that know your car in the Hyundi forum.
