'93 Silhouette - Changing lower driving light bulbs

We just picked up a '93 Silhouette and I noticed that the driving lights way under the front fascia do not work. The local auto parts stores do not have a repair manual in stock. I figured out how to remove the two side plastic pop rivets on each side of the lamp bucket but I still can't get the light bucket out as it also has an adjustable spring mech level thingy attached to the rear of the bucket that will not allow me to pull out the bucket so I can get to the bulb to replace it.
Any help is greatly appreciated

ok having been there done that...

the rubber boot is held on by a wire tie. You have to cut this tie in order to remove the boot. There is likely to be silicone in there as well.

You dont need to remove the rivets or that wire twist thingy. The wire twist thingy is SUPOSED to unscrew but never does.

Allot of times you can wiggle the socket enough and the lights will work.

What I did...

I clipped the wire tie around the rubber boot. Removed the rubber boot. Squeezed the silver lightbulb/plug holder out of the housing. Unclip the wiring harness. Welded the 2 pieces together (if you dont know what two pieces let me know I'll explain). Insert the now 1 piece back in to the socket. Put the rubber boot back on with some silicone (should hold it in place mine does) and connect the wire.

Lights work flawless now and come on every time...
