Is this Possible?

Hey guys. Since this is the 3000gt forum I assumed you all know alot about them. I was wondering if in your opinion it would be possible to find a base 3000gt with around 150k miles, standard, for under $3000?

I know it would definitely be a 1991 or 1992 but I was just wondering if you guys think I could ever find one in the new england area. $3000 is my limit, my dad is buying a car for me and I'm looking at 1994+ integra's, 1992+ prelude's, 1994+ celica gt's, but I like the all around package of the 3000gt the best with the power, looks, and interior. Thx in advance for all responses.

I live near boston and I have seen a 96 base auto with 160k going for 2600, If you want to spend a little more to get a better car you can buy mine lol but its a 95 SL manual loaded with all the options with 100k so it's probably out of your price range, I'm asking 7500, I've babied it and 85% of the miles I put on it are highway.

But if the limit if 3000 is a problem i'm shure you can find one for that amount here in NE, even a 94+, just make shure to take it to a mechanic to get it checked out since it'll have all those miles.

Re: Is this Possible?

with that kind of cash to spend, you'll have high probability of buying a pretty beat up 3kgt. I got mine for $5,500 and it needed about $4,000 worth of suspension and engine parts to be fixed on it. Honestly for that kind of cash an integra may be a more practical choice but if you can find a 3kgt then happy day

Re: Is this Possible?

i just bought my second 3000gt and i robbed the guy blind. the KBB was like 8k and the guy was gonna finance it at 6k. but just jokingly i offered 4k cash cus that was pretty much all i had and the moron said sure... so i ended up with a 95' base with only 98k miles on it. almost fully loaded ....perfect paint..and not a problem with the engine.

Re: Is this Possible?

Damn, if that 96 was a manual, I'd be all over that lol. Too bad but if anyone is selling or knows someone who is selling for under 3k and its a manual, plz let me know. It would hafta be within 100 miles of Hartford, ct tho, boston would be the max I would go.

Re: Is this Possible?

suprachica779, I don't think buying a base model with 150K miles is a good decision. As PearlGT pointed out, you'll probably end up paying a lot getting it back to good running condition. Either way, good luck with your search.

Re: Is this Possible?

a honda would probably be the best way cause mitsus are really expensive to fix. and with that many miles you could get a honda and it will still rund good
