Trunk Lock

Has anyone ever replaced the power lock motor/mechanism on the trunk? When I use the power locks on the door or the remote, the passenger doors lock but the trunk doesn't. Any thoughts?

Do you hear a noise from the back when you hit the lock or unlock button? A similar thing happened to me, turned out it was just the lock had simply disconnected from the locking motor. If you can still lock it with the key, then this is most likely the problem. You can take off the plastic molding from the inside of your door and reconnect the lever, and your set.

Re: Trunk Lock

i've never done it on a Jeep, but another SUV, the tailgate locking mechanism's gears were stripped out. so if you hear a noise from the tailgate, the unit probably has issues, if you hear nothing it could be a loose connection.
