Gran Prix w/Ram Air V-6
Ok. I love, absolutely love, the look of the Gran Prix with the Ram Air V-6. I've seen them driven but I've never seen anyone run them hard. I know how the Gran Prix handles (Great!) but I've never been in the Ram Air much less driven it. Can anyone tell me if it runs as good as it looks?

The functional hood scoops (Ram Air) aren't that functional. The idea is to introduce the coldest air possible into the engine to increase the combustion efficency. Fender well or cold air intake work better. But the grand prix have a supercharged 3.8 l v6 that is ment to give your grocery getter exciment. A very practical and fun car to own.

Re: Gran Prix w/Ram Air V-6
There is no Grand Prix labeled as a "Ram Air" car.
There is a Trans Am WS.6, and a Grand Am GT that got the label. There are Grand Prix older models with a "Ram Air" type hood, but they never got label with Ram Air from Pontiac.

Thats Series III 3.8L V6 is so friggin out of date...GM has to supercharge it just to make it competitive with the other V6's...They have a really good 3.6L 255hp V6 wasted in the Buick Rendezvous (plus Cadillac cts, and Buick Lacrosse?) that would be a great fit in GM's mainstream car lineup
In terms of the Ram Air V6...Isn't that used in The Grand am?

Re: Gran Prix w/Ram Air V-6
I've driven a GTP, I wouldn't call the handling great but it's not really a sports car so for a grocery getter its better than your average Buick. I like the Heads Up Display feature the most though I would never buy one. But then again i'll be stuffing my kids in the back of a Lotus Espirit if I ever have them lol.
