If anyone is looking for tires for their Intrigue (or any other car), another option that I've had good success with would be Yokohama's Avid Touring tires. I got them for a great price through Discount Tires Direct(www.tires.com) and they were rated highly by Consumer Reports. They are quiet, and do well in the snow and rain.

Re: Found Great tires

I'd be interested in hearing about how the above tires (or any others) handle snow.

Granted the Intrigue is a sporty car for a 4 door, but I need tires that work reasonably well in all seasons.

TIA.

Well i went on slippery roads with these tires i give them 9.5 out of 10 because you hear road noise and the good thing is you 30 days to return them if not 100% happy you also get 80000 Miles Warrenty

The Yokohama tires also work well in snow. I live in Utah, which gets a lot of snow in the winter, and they have always performed well. They also have an 80,000 mile warranty.

The main thing that attracted them to me was the low price, high reviews, and great ride. They are a touring tire which provides good all-around perfomance for and Intrigue. I am sure there are many tires out there that perform well. This one just seems to have a nice price!

OK... I checked on the discount tire website and for 4 Yokohama Avid Touring tires installed and with the Roadhazard warranty it would be $376. You could probably get them cheaper overall if you order them direct and paid someone to install them ($300). For a front end alignment, you would have to go elsewhere.

The tires you got are very good too. They are a more aggressive tire while the Avids are touring tires. Both have an 80,000 mile warranty which makes them nice.

Re: Found Great tires

The trend I have seen now is that tire shops always want to do a 4 wheel alignment when they change tires. This IMHO is just another way to run up their bill. If the car tracks straight and the tires wear evenly across (or slightly more on the outside edges if you do a lot of hard cornering) then I see no point in spending the extra money for a 4 wheel alignment.
